I was relieved to find your very informative site, as I am also in the position of having a car that has stood for years (3), which now needs restoring.

Being a complete beginner in the world of motor mechanics, it is encouraging to read of other mechanically challenged people who are prepared to have a go.

I can see I shall be a regular visitor to your site, keep it up.

Like the site. Good info. No
hype. On MGB #6 a 74.5 dual
carb MGBGT overdrive model. Bought in
the Cal. desert. New BRG paint and
total mechanical rebuild. Never
a spec of rust. I am going for
an MGCGT so need to sell.

I am beginning to restore my ''74.5 MGB-GT. Two questions for any of those out there that might be able to help: 1) Is there any hope for finding an overdrive unit for retrofit?, 2) The synchro box seems to make it difficult to downshift into 3rd from top gear. Is this normal, or does it require a rebuild? How "synchro" is it, anyway?

Hi, cool site!

At the moment I am looking to get an MGB GT. Since I was a kid I wanted the Car from ferris bulars day off. I was told today that it is not in actual fact a fany million dollar car, but an MGB GT that had been modified. If anyone has any info about what kind of MGB GT to get (ie year etc) and tips for conversions that would be great.

Thank you. A wonderful site. I will probably be back for details. This year, I am going to fully restore the 74 GT I acquired. It might be useful to your readers to know how long this whole process took you. (I would like to know.)

Great site! After a lifetime of dreaming of owning an MGB, and hours of searching online for information to help with purchase, I found your site, ordered a book from AmazonUK that you recommended, and feel that I may finally be on my way toward fulfilling my dream. Thanks!
